Adult Sunday School News

Adult Sunday School are Sundays at 11am in the Chapel.

We will continue the series "The Mission of Jesus" by Ray Vander Laan.  In this series, we will discover how Jesus triumphantly made God's presence known on Earth, how he asks us to do the same - bringing God's shalom to the chaos of others.

All are welcome to join us after worship in the Chapel for these worthwhile lessons.

*Please note there will be NO Adult Sunday School on February 15.

2026 COFFEE TIME HOSTS/HOSTESSES

In 2026, Coffee Time hosts/hostesses are needed for the months of May, June, July, and October.  Please see or contact Doris Snyder or Sheryl Smith.

New volunteers are welcome and will be assisted by Sheryl or Doris if needed. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve the church and get to know more of the members.

Preparing Our Hearts for Lent (A Time to Get Closer to God)

As February unfolds, we find ourselves on the threshold of Lent - a season that invites us to slow down, look inward, and make space for spiritual renewal.  While the world around us is still deep in winter, Lent offers a gentle reminder that transformation often begins quietly, long before spring arrives.

A Season of Reflection and Renewal

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18 a day marked by humility and hope.  We will have a communion service that night.  The askes we will receive symbolize both our human fragility and God's enduring mercy.

Over the next forty days, we're invited to reflect on our lives, deepen our prayer, and return to what matters most.

Many people choose to observe Lent through:

          * Prayer - creating intentional moments of quiet and connection

          * Fasting - letting go of habits or comforts that distract us

          * Almsgiving - practicing generosity in ways big and small

These practices aren't about restriction; they're about making room - for clarity, compassion, and spiritual growth.

Finding Your Lenten Focus

If you're still discerning how to approach Lent this year, consider choosing a theme or intention.  Some ideas:

          * Cultivating gratitude                                                       * Practicing patience

          * Reducing digital noise                                                    * Strengthening daily prayer

Small, consistent steps often lead to the most meaningful change.

Throughout February and into Lent, we'll be offering opportunities to grow together:

          * Ash Wednesday communion service February 18 at 6:00pm

          * Weekly Lenten Reflections or Devotionals; Wednesdays on Facebook

          * Bible studies will start on Tuesday February 3 at 10:30am in the Parlor

These moments of shared faith help us support one another on our journey through the wilderness.

Looking Ahead to Easter

Lent ultimately leads us toward the joy of Easter - a reminder that every season of sacrifice and reflection prepares us for renewal.  As we begin this sacred time, may we enter it with open hearts, ready to be shaped, challenged, and uplifted.  Wishing you a meaningful and grace-filled Lent.
