  Bible Study

  Mondays beginning January 15, 2018

  - God Is Closer than You Think by John Ortberg
Intimacy with God can happen right now - a closeness you can feel, a reality you can experience for yourself.  God is
closer than you think, and connecting with him isn't the exclusive domain of monks and ascetics.  It's for business
people, high school students, busy moms, single men, single women...and most important, it's for you.  Find God
where you least expect him.  Topics include: "Listen to God's voice";"Identify which pathway of relationship you're
uniquely designed to travel"; "Align yourself with the flow of the Holy Spirit"; "Draw closer to God even when he
    seems absent".
  - 500: A Study for the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation by the Stillspeaking Writers' Group
This study celebrates the United church of Christ's Reformation heritage by lifting up some of the Reformation's
central claims.  It includes topics: "Guess What? You're a Priest"; "Which Do You Prefer an Angry God or a Cheap
Gospel?"; "Total Depravity"; and "Luther's Sins--and Ours".

  Sunday, January 21, 2018

Association delegates will vote on the recommendation to authorize Brian Percy for ordination and ministry in the

Smith, as she leads us in a discussion concerning the 2017 Strategic Mission Plan for our Conference.
  Dessert donations will be appreciated.

evening, which includes Bible stories, games, crafts, other activities, and supper. There is no cost for the evening,
  while freewill offerings are accepted.

                                            Outreach Opportunities

  The WELL
  - During the following months, we will be collecting these items for the WELL.
                - January - Soup
                - February & March - Soup and Canned Fruit
 - Save your egg cartons for The WELL and put them on the shelves in the parlor. The WELL receives flats of eggs
and they need to be broken down to give to the clients.

Devers School
- Save your "Boxtops for Education" year round. Please place them in the mason jar on the shelves in the parlor.

  Lebanon Veterans' Hospital
  - Donate your old magazines. Please place them on the pew across from the elevator, beside the recycle box - not in
the box. Our sexton, Cindy Miller, will deliver them.

  Coupons for Our Troops
  - This is an ongoing mission/outreach project for Faith. Just bring the manufacturer coupon books from the newspaper
to church and put them in the orange basket in the parlor. They will be sent to commissaries for out troops.
Manufacturers will honor coupons up to six months past the expiration date. You can cut them out or bring the full
book. What an easy way to support our men/women in the military. Thank you for your support.
